On 8th May I married a local couple from Edmonton at the Cannon Park Racecourse at Whiterock. Danny from Millenium was in charge of their music and they had two bridesmaids and two groomsmen and the couple’s two little boys walked in front of their Mum down the red carpet. A really nice couple and I am sure they will live happily ever after!
On Monday 3rd May I married an interstate couple in the early afternoon, watched by their families in the gazebo on the beach at the Kewarra Beach Resort. It was a beautiful day with hardly any wind and everyone was very happy to be in this wonderful part of Queensland.
On Saturday 24th April I acted as Celebrant for a lovely young couple who were married in front of their families and friends on the beach opposite the Sebel Reef House at Palm Cove. We did get a little wet when the heavens opened on us towards the end of their ceremony but there are some great photos under umbrellas and everyone was very happy.
On Saturday 1st May I performed two weddings at the Sebel – one at lunchtme and the other later in the afternoon. The first couple had just found out that they were expecting a new arrival and they were very emotional and happy. There were no friends as they had eloped from interstate, but we had a photographer and videographer there to record their vows. Even the two witnesses were in tears when the groom said some wonderful words to his bride and I must admit that even I had to wipe away a tear myself. Such a pleasure to meet these two and a very special wedding for me.
The second wedding was for a local couple and was in front of their blended families with the bride’s son taking the photos. They were very happy with a few tears escaping during the ceremony and again it was a pleasure to be a part of their wedding.
On Saturday 17th April I performed a wedding for an Austrian couple who were currently living in Cairns and shortly to travel around Australia before returning home again. They had made many new friends whilst living and working in Cairns and it was before a group of these friends that they married, and it was one of the nicest ceremonies I have done over the years. We played a song called I Want to Grow Old with You and the words were absolutely right for this couple. I give them all my very best wishes.
On Sunday 11th April I drove to Mission Beach with Ian from Posh Photography to catch the water taxi to Dunk Island and then another water taxi to Bedarra which is one of the most beautiful and exclusive islands in Australia. On the beach later in the afternoon a couple from Hong Kong renewed their wedding vows before a small group of relations and friends. We toasted the happy couple with a glass of bubbles and they then had their reception under a beautiful clear sky. It was so much fun.
On 10th April I drove up the winding road north to Pretty Beach where a couple from Port Douglas made their vows to each other in front of their international, interstate and local guests. It was a very warm day and the guests who had travelled from overseas tended to gather under a lovely shady tree.
On 10th April I performed a wedding for a lovely couple in the beautiful Angsana Chapel overlooking the sea. It was a magical day and everyone had lots of fun and lots of happy tears.
On 9th April I acted as Celebrant on the beach at Palm Cove for a very happy young couple.
On 27th March I acted as Celebrant for an interstate couple at the Lakes Resort. As it was a little wet on that day we had their ceremony within the resort itself and lots of laughs from their many friends and relations. They would have had a great reception.
