I had been contacted by a lovely man who wanted to surprise his wife with a renewal of vows ceremony. They lived interstate and she was visiting her father in Cairns who was very ill. As they had previously eloped he wanted her father to walk her into the ceremony and this is what we did on the Esplanade in Cairns in the late afternoon. Their small daughter was in charge of the rings and after a couple of false starts when she looked like throwing them into the grass, we eventually made it. The ceremony was emotional and perfect for them and I was so impressed with the romantic and lovely way in which he organised this ceremony for his wife.
