Saturday 4th September was a very busy day for me and I performed two weddings in the beautiful Angsana Chapel. The first at 2pm was for a local couple and their family and friends and the second one at 4pm was for an interstate couple and also their close friends and family. It was a very warm day and we had the doors open so that we could catch the slight breeze and look out at the beautiful ocean only metres away.
On Friday 3rd I travelled up to Thala Beach – one of my favourite venues. I had managed to have the previous weekend away with my husband which is something which hardly ever happens as he works away a lot. I married an interstate couple on the beach and the photographer and wedding co-ordinator acted as witnesses. It was a lovely and personal ceremony.
On 24th August I met a couple from interstate who renewed their vows at the northern end of Clifton Beach. Due to the groom’s long term illness, their words to each other had a very special meaning – it was a pleasure to renew their vows.
On 21st August I performed a wedding at the Paradise Palms Resort and Country Club – on the green under their gazebo. A lovely local couple who in fact know my son and their were a few school friends of his there as well. A lovely day under a blue sky and a very happy young couple.
On 20th August I married a lovely couple on the beach at the Sea Temple Port Douglas. Champagne served afterwards and then they went further up the beach for a group photograph with their closest friends and family.
On 19th August I acted as Celebrant for a couple I had married five years ago – on their wedding anniversary. Only a few local guests and their daughter who acted as a bridemaid and read out some beautiful words she had written herself. It was lovely.
On 16th August which was a Monday – an unusual day for a wedding – I married a couple at the Cairns Yacht Club at Ellis Beach. Lots of interstate and international guests and they were so happy together. A beautiful day at Ellis Beach overlooking Double Island.
I have been so busy lately that this is the first opportunity I have had to put some more weddings onto my blog. On Saturday 14th August I married a lovely couple from New Zealand on the beach opposite the Sebel Reef House at Palm Cove. Lots of guests from New Zealand and locally and very emotional.
