This morning I married a couple from New South Wales on the beach at Palm Cove with their 3 year old daughter there as well. They said their own vows to each other and it was absolutely lovely and very special. Another very special day in paradise. This is my last wedding for 2010 so a very Happy New Year to you all. It has been a very busy and enjoyable year and I look forward to meeting many more couples from around the world in 2011.
On 14th December I flew to my most favourite place in the whole world – Lizard Island – to marry an Englishman and his Italian bride on Hibiscus Beach. We travelled to the beach by boat and there was a gazebo to keep us shaded and the stunning backdrop on a totally isolated beach, for their photographs. I had to fly out later that day to attend a party in Cairns but I took lots of memories with me and I enjoyed a glass of bubbles before I left to toast their future. They return to England today to the snow and sleet and freezing temperatures, and I bet they wish they were still here on their special beach.
Early on 11th December I married a couple from New South Wales who were on holiday with their children. They had the bride’s brother and his wife to act as their witnesses, and they were married under the shade of the trees opposite Vivo Restaurant at beautiful Palm Cove and then breakfast afterwards at Vivos. The day was simply beautiful with a flat blue sea and cloudless sky – paradise!
On 11th December I acted as Celebrant for a couple from South Queensland – in front of their family. There is a baby on the way and much excitement there. It was fun.
On Saturday 4th December I married a young couple from South Australia in front of their guests from interstate and Northern Ireland. It was a beautiful afternoon on the beach and they had written their own secret vows which they read to each other. It was a lovely day.
